Fantasia School of Music| Teaching Philosophy

Our Mission

The school's primary mission consists of three crucial parts:

  1. To improve students' personal development and lives through quality and fun music lessons.

  2. To help educators grow and flourish professionally.

  3. To refine music education.

We want to transfer as many children and adults as possible from "music consumers" into "music makers." Our primary goal is not to raise professional musicians (although we can do it too), but we want to contribute to the cultural life of our community. Not only for musical reasons: we see it as more global.

STUDENTS

  • Music does change lives. Our director's personal experience shows that those are not just empty words. Music helps people escape their sometimes poor conditions and build a better life.

  •  Music proved beneficial for a person's (especially a child's) cognitive development and mental health for those who play/learn an instrument and those around them.

  •  Statistics show music decreases violence and crime. Needless to say, it is advantageous for society.

Our school believes we do our part by:

- helping students understand music better and, as a result, enjoy it more;

- developing their creativity and raising their cultural level;

- building students’ confidence by letting them participate in various events and getting new experiences;

- making students more social;

- teaching students how to achieve their goals and dreams in music;

- performing on a stage and participating in music events regardless of age or level;

-  taking music exams or preparing for a music career;

- charity program Open Music World

- collaborating with other educational institutes and charity organizations.

EDUCATORS

There have been many cases of professional musicians being unable to find their path and ending up not in the music field after spending many years training and practicing. We believe our school can and should be of use to people like them.

The FSM wants to discover passionate, talented teachers and grow professionally together. Our school is a chance for them to do what they deserve to do, and through that, we bring music to more families.

MUSIC EDUCATION

Music education has a long history and multiple pedagogical systems and methods. However, it doesn't mean everything has been perfected. Our school's collective teaching experience shows that there are ways to improve systems. We combine traditional music benefits with modern technologies and programs. This way, our students learn faster, better and gain more knowledge and skills. Our school regularly seeks ways to improve teaching methods to benefit our students and others.
